Unsettled Settling Down

Posted by mauigem on November 28, 2007

It has been more than a year now that I have known friends who are at least or over the age of 30. Socially, we are inclined of getting concerned on when he or she would settle down. Some simply grins, some says “I’ll think about it” and some utters “I desperately want to but I have not found the right person yet.”

The notion of being an over-30-year-old and still not married must be a big thing. It is either you fall into one of the following categories: unlucky in love, cannot be able to love, or gay (in cases of men). Whatever it is, almost everyone thinks that there is something not normal with you.

According to studies, an individual in a relationship is generally happier than a single person. Added to that, they say that a married individual has the greater sense of well being as having more commitment makes you develop more sense of security. But if married life is a bliss, why is it that many young men and women still find being single appealing? Is it because of men’s testosterones? Or maybe women’s discouragement on men’s commitment issues? Blame it on the rain.
